I love watercolour and the way you get pigmented surfaces, especially with darker blue and red pigments as they break up when they dry. The same effect can be found when using acrylic inks and lots of water, the paint can sit on the surface. The figure is taken from a drawing form the British Museum, one of the Greek artefact galleries.....
